Cebada Vineyard is located on Forbidden Fruit Orchards, a 100-acre farm on the Western edge of the Santa Rita Hills, and in November 2014, owner Sandra Newman opened the first tasting room on the mezzanine level of Isabella Gourmet Foods.
Sandy has always grown a wide variety of produce, and is known up and down the West Coast for her famed Jewel blueberries, which she makes into jam, syrup, sorbet, and a particularly decadent Forbidden Fruit Libation made with brandy. In 2011, the first vintage of Cebada wines came to fruition, and the resulting Pinot Noir and Chardonnay became the flagstones of what is now a vertical tasting list that includes a 2011 and 2012 Chardonnay, a 2011 and 2012 Pinot Noir, the Forbidden Fruit Libation, as well as a 2014 Rose of Pinot Noir!
Sandy's blueberry products, as well as her applesauce, green tea leaves, and more can all be found downstairs on the Isabella Gourmet Foods shelves, and her wonderful wines can all be sampled on the mezzanine level in the tasting room for a nominal fee. Stop by today!

Every so often an artisan product comes along that is truly wrought by hand from start to finish, and Conway's Confections is one such product. The fruit used for each package is grown in orchard located on the Gilbreth family's Ojai ranch, and each piece is hand-candied and then hand-dipped in chocolate to finish it off. Finally, each package is carefully crafted by hand to give it the presentation such a confection deserves. You can't go wrong with any of the four flavors!
Gluten-free food products may be easier to track down these days, but how about a gluten-free sourdough bread that exceeds both flavor and texture expectations? Sounds downright impossible! Not so anymore, thanks to Bread Srsly out of San Francisco, founded in 2011 and run by Sadie Scheffer, whose commitment to gluten-free is only surpassed by her attention to quality, whether that means sourcing wild yeast (as opposed to commercial yeast), or allowing the bread to rise for an extra few hours to achieve just the right consistency and level of health benefit.
Now that business is booming, Sadie can send her famous bread far and wide, and Isabella Gourmet Foods is lucky to be the first store in the Central Coast area to carry it! With 3 flavors including Classic, Seeded, and Kale, these loaves last a solid 10 days in the refrigerator and can stick it out much longer if sliced and frozen.
